Adapture Gives Back with Women in Technology (WIT)
Kati Graff, Account Executive at Adapture, serves her community by leading the Adapture team’s efforts to support Women in Technology (WIT), a program that promotes women of all ages in science, technology, engineering, the arts, and math, also referred to as STEAM fields. WIT was established in 1992 and boasts 48,000 members worldwide. Of those members, 18,000 are located in Georgia. WIT provides networking opportunities as well as scholarships, mentorships, and other educational programs.
Graff first got involved with WIT in 2015 at the Women of the Year event. She was so impressed by what she saw that she began volunteering at WIT forums, the Women of the Year Committee, and WIT Connect. This year, she serves as WIT Connect Chair and Judge’s Committee Chair.
Over the past seven years, Graff has seen many changes within the organization. One she was most excited to share was WIT Single Mothers, which began in 2021. WIT Single Mothers is designed to provide single mothers with an opportunity to advance their careers in technology while taking care of any obstacles in their way, such as tuition, transportation, childcare, and class materials. The program is designed to enable participants to focus on school and then places them in cybersecurity positions in Atlanta upon graduation.
When asked if there was anything she wanted people to know about WIT, Graff said that there are volunteer opportunities for men and women of all ages. She is proud to be a part of change directly impacting her community—particularly the technology community. WIT’s motto is “From classroom to boardroom,” which Graff promotes passionately. She knows that WIT is doing what they set out to do—promoting women in STEAM—and she is proud to be a part of it.
